About Us
Our mission
Hesaba is a free collection of online calculators built around one idea: a useful calculation should take seconds and cost nothing. The word hesab (حساب) means calculation in Arabic, and the site is deliberately bilingual — every calculator exists in English and in Arabic with a genuine right-to-left interface, because we believe practical tools should speak the user's language, not the other way around.
How the calculators are built
Each calculator is written against a published, verifiable formula — the amortization formula banks use, the WHO BMI ranges, standard calendar arithmetic — and documents that formula on its own page, together with a worked example and its assumptions. Results are computed locally in your browser: nothing you type is sent to a server, stored, or shared. If a calculator shows an assumption, it is because the assumption matters, and we would rather be transparent than quietly optimistic.
Principles we hold
- Free and open. No accounts, no paywalls, no locked features.
- Fast by design. Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript — no frameworks, no trackers slowing the page down.
- Private by default. Calculations run on your device; we have no access to them.
- Honest about limits. Every financial and health tool states what it does not include.
What's next
This launch includes twenty calculators across finance, math, health, education, dates, and everyday life. The architecture is built to scale far beyond that: more health metrics, more tax systems, more unit conversions, and refinements driven by what visitors actually search for. If a calculator you need is missing, we would genuinely like to hear about it — see the contact page.
