Grades follow rules, and once you know the rules you can plan around them. The education calculators in this section mirror the way schools and universities actually compute results. The GPA calculator weights each course by its credit hours on the standard 4.0 scale, so a five-credit course moves your average more than a two-credit seminar — exactly as your registrar's office calculates it. The grade calculator works in two modes: combine weighted assignment scores into an overall grade, or work backwards from a target grade to find the minimum score you need on the final exam. Both show their math step by step. Use them at the start of a term to set realistic targets, and mid-term to see exactly where you stand before it is too late to adjust.
